Summary: A cute little Jessica Rider/Jacob Black fic. Also a companion fic to the other challenge story, Reunion.
Howling at the Moon
Jessica Rider inhaled deeply, taking in the crisp, clean air as she took a stroll in the forest. She loved taking walks, especially now that her youngest sister, Alex, is dating Edward Cullens. The middle sister of the triplets, Lindsay, had yet to snag a boyfriend. Something that both Jessica and Alex were working on.
Warm hands slid over her eyes and Jessica yelped before grinning. She knew who it was.
"Guess who?" a husky male voice whispered into her ear. She shivered a little.
"Let me guess," she answered just as huskily. "Sam?"
A low chuckle answered her. "Guess again, love."
"Oh, my God. Don't tell me that you are Mike."
"Nope. I'm definitely not Mike."
Jessica grinned. "That's true. But I know who you are." She stepped out of his hold and turned around to face her boyfriend, Jacob Black, who also happened to be a werewolf. God, what is it about my family and having preternatural boyfriends? she asked herself.
"Of course you do," Jacob said with a warm smile. He moved foward gracefully and pinned her lightly against a tree. "Who else do you know that walks these woods?"
"The Cullens do."
His eyes flashed slightly. "But none of them sneak up on you like I do."
Jessica loved the jealous gleam that was entering his eyes and she decided to milk it. "Well... Jasper and Emmett do it to me all the time." Which wasn't a total lie. They only did it to scare the living daylights out of her, which they found amusing.
"And neither of them love you like I do," he growled and sealed her lips with his before she could say anything.
Kissing Jacob was something Jessica couldn't live without. She gave a moan and locked her arms around his neck, kissing him back.
They broke the kiss for air, their foreheads touching each other as they did so.
"Have a good run?" she asked, panting slightly.
"I did. I wish you could experience it, the thrill of running with a pack, the sharper senses." He trailed a hand down her side, sending delicious sensations that made Jessica shiver.
"I wish I could too."
Jacob kissed her forehead, his lips lingering a little. "I am so lucky to have you. You are my soul mate, mine for however long I wish."
Jessica smiled. "And you are mine as well, my lovely wolf."
"Always."
