Title: Tea and Blood
rating: PG-13
Summery: Simply a missing scene from Allie's fic.
Jocelyn picked a vase off the table and pulled out the dead roses and tossed them into the trash can. It'd been another stressful day at work, Puppy was running with the pack and Cayden was hanging with Edward.
"Looks like another night of pointless zombie movies alone." Joceyln said cheerfully putting in a daisy into the vase walking back to the table.
“Wouldn't count on that.” Jocelyn dropped the vase and whirled around to stare at the back door. She knew his voice almost better then she knew her own as he stood leaning against the door frame looking at her smirking. His normal brown eyes had bits of crimson in them and his skin made him look even more exotic. “Surprised to see me?”
“Adel!”She ran into his arms hugging him tightly. She never wanted to let him go, it was all alright now. True he looked different, He used to look like her mirror image but his skin was paler and his eyes, those eyes were different like-
“No one said you weren't bright.” Adel said as she jumped back from him looking at him wide eyed.
“No, no, please don't tell me you...” Jocelyn pleaded looking at her twin.
“Not by choice.” Adel shrugged his shoulders. “Are you going to invite me in for tea or try to stake me now?”
“...Tea is needed.” Jocelyn nodded vigorously as she ran to the cupboards. She wasn't sure how she was able to go through all the steps to make the tea without thinking. She set the tea on the table between Adel who sat comfortably playing with a simple white scarf around his neck.
"Do you like tea still?"
"Why wouldn't I?" Adel asked scrapping his middle finger against his teeth dripping blood into his cup.
“You drink humans?” Jocelyn asked although she already knew the answer.
“Well your all like cows, really. Why should I feel bad about eating a cow, hm?” Adel shrugged his shoulders. Jocelyn couldn't be angry with her brother, even if some how she knew she should be. He had always been a person of conviction, always in control of his emotions. He was the good student, perfect child while she was the rebel. He was light where she was dark...guess that all changed now.
"What happened to you, Adel?" Jocelyn asked softly. "I haven't heard from you in over a year you even made your thoughts more distant."
"Well I was in England. Figured I'd visit a pub while I was a bout, right?" Adel said looking down at the cup in his hands intensely. "I met Him there. I'd never met anyone so different before. He was as smart as I was and look my age."
"Oh." Jocelyn said sipping her own tea blushing slightly.
"He wasn't model pretty but there was just a charm to him." Jo could feel her brother's depression like it was her own. "I want back to his place and he decided he wanted to keep me."
"Keep you?"
"A test run to see if I would be worth turning. Like dating before getting married." Adel said forcing a smile. "Sure he's a bit of a control freak and may have burned his name into my neck but it could be worse."
“You taking to the unlife rather well, considering the circumstances.”
“You could too.” Adel said sipping his tea softly.
“I...I couldn't.” Jocelyn said simply looking down at her hands.
“Because of Cayden?” Adel said setting the cup down slowly. “Or is the smell of wolf have something to do with it?”
“You smell Jacob.” Jocelyn said biting her lip. “He's a really nice boy I'm kind of seeing.”
“It's beneath you.” Adel said as his eyes flashed slightly.
“Nice to see you continue criticizing my choices in men.” Jocelyn said rolling her eyes. “i never say a word about the boys you brought home.”
“My choices in romantic involvement are wise and above average.” Adel paused looking over at her as Jocelyn raised an eyebrow at him.
“...My judgment may have been off in England.”
"Jacob is a nice boy. Gran approved." Jocelyn said smiling at her brother.
"He's a dog that will try to rip my throat out the moment he mets me." Adel said rolling his eyes. "Sounds Perfect for you. Thought of the kids names yet?"
"He wouldn't if you didn't..."
"Do what comes naturally to me?" Adel asked laughing slightly. "My Maker warned me about those types."
“It's your choice, Adel" Jocelyn said grabbing onto her twin's hand. "But if its not too much trouble could you go hunting outside of town?”
“Wouldn't dream of putting you in that kind of trouble, Jo.”
“...Promise me you wont leave again with out saying goodbye in person.”
“Of course not.”
“Thank you.”
“I wanted to tell you something Jo...” Adel looking down slightly. “I was trying to find away to bring it up without it being sudden but...”
“What's wrong?”
“My maker said something that worried me before I left. Things about us.”
“Like what?”
“We're twins. He knew that without me ever even saying I had a sister. You know how we've always seemed to know what each other is thinking, feeling? Hell I feel when someone hurts you?”
“Simple freaky twin stuff.”
“It's gotten...stranger. Maybe you haven't noticed but I haven't feed in days and yet no darkness under my eyes. Your stronger, faster..”
“...What are you saying?”
“Your human but you have all of a vampires skills and I'm a vampire who feeds off of you without biting you.”
“That's different.”
“My maker tested some theories on me about it.” Adel fidgeted again. “I can't be harmed. He tried pretty fuckin' hard but couldn't even cut me. Your my only weakness, Jo.”
“What do you mean by that?”
“I die only when you do.”
“Oh.”
“So I want you to reconsider my offer from before.”
“About turning me?”
“It feels better then anything in the world, Jo.”
“...I don't think it'd be a good idea, Ad.”
“Then don't complain when I pull over protective brother on you. But what I just told you has to stay between us, understand? No one can know, not Gran, not your friends and defiantly not that werewolf.”
“I...I promises.” Jo pointed to the cut on her right hand were Adel had a matching scar.
“Now tell me about this Jacob Black, hm?”
“I didn't ask about your latest conquest!”
“My maker is tall, dark, handsome with a slight German accent.” Adel smiled slightly. “Now spill.”
