------------Chapter One-------------
"Electabuzz, go!"
Breyana watched as the Electric Pokemon was released from its Pokeball. She wasn't worried. Even though she favored Flying and Ice types, both very weak against Electric types, she knew her Pokemon would pull through. Besides, not everyone knew about her obsession over Eevee and all 7 of its evolutions, which she kept until she has need of them.
"Dewgong, Aurora Beam!" she cried.
Dewgong reared back and a small ball of light formed in its open mouth. Over on the other side of the field, Electabuzz began to charge forward, readying a physical attack. As if expecting this, Dewgong slid away, using its flippers to steer itself. The ball now formed a beam of white light and the light sped toward Electabuzz. The Electric Pokemon couldn't avoid it and the beam hit, sending the Pokemon flying. It hit a wall and slid down, unconscious.
Breyana's eyes slid over to the trainer, who reluctantly recalled his last Pokemon. "Do you concede defeat?" she demanded, her voice cold as ice and her ice blue eyes just as cold and hard as her voice.
The boy nodded and he left the warehouse, shoulders slumped. After the door closed, Shayne appeared from the shadows, a grin on his face. His dark blonde hair was slightly messy and thick and rested barely inches from his shoulders.
"You are getting better and better, sis," he said, punching her shoulder slightly.
Shayne and Breyana had grown up together when they were younger, having been neighbors back in Cinnabar Island in Kanto. Blane, the Cinnabar Island Gym Leader, Breyana's father, also saw Shayne as the son he never had. Breyana's mother passed away from a terrible sickness when the girl was only five, leaving Blane to raise his daughter alone.
The two had gotten their first Pokemon at the same time and went on their Pokemon journies together. They also joined Team Rocket together, shocking the Kanto region.
Breyana punched him playfully back. "You aren't turning out so bad either. I see you are turning out to favor the Fire types."
"They are powerful beasts," Shayne responded. His Flareon joined him, the only Pokemon he left outside the Pokeball. It yipped a greeting to Breyana, tail whipping around, before glancing around expectantly.
Breyana chuckled and whistled, calling Glaceon over to join them. The Ice-evolution of Eevee bounded over, slipping from the shadows. Its tail wagged when it caught sight of Flareon and the two began to play.
"Just like they did when they were young," she said wistfully.
Shayne made a noise of agreement and the two friends watched their Pokemon play, for once forgetting about the dark deeds they were sent to do.
----------------Flashback----------------------
Breyana and Shayne slipped into Giovanni's office, their Rocket uniforms on. They ignored the glares from the other Rocket members that were leaving. The two friends were highly respected by their boss, especially for their special abilities they possessed.
"You called, boss?" Shayne asked once the door closed behind the fleeing Rocket members.
Giovanni petted his Persian's head, glancing at them through his dark eyes. "Yes. There is a mission I feel you would be able to accomplish for me. As you know, there are other rival teams who are wanting to take over the world. Most of them are awakening all the legendary Pokemon around every region. I want the both of you to stop these teams and to snag all the legendary Pokemon for our team."
Breyana wanted to open her mouth to protest but she wanted to please her boss, so she just nodded. "No one stands a chance with us, boss," she told him.
"We are always at your service," Shayne added. The two bowed and left the office.
-------------end flashback------------------
"Ana? You okay?"
Breyana snapped out of her daze and smiled at her "brother". "I'm fine."
"Then let's go. I found some information about some team going after the three legendary birds in this region."
