Mistletoe
written by Mistress Wisewings
Summary: Set in the Sookie Stackhosue book universe, before Dead and Gone. Sookie decides to show Eric a Christmas he will never forget.
------------------
"What the fuck is mistletoe doing in here?!"
Sookie hid a grin as she wiped down a table in her section. Arlene always did hate mistletoe, except for the kissing part. Arlene loved kissing anything male. Sookie lost her grin quickly. But Arlene was not speaking to her anymore. It was too bad, really. She really liked her.
"I wanted something a little more festive than hanging up lights," Sam commented from behind the bar, counting the money bills. "Besides, we gained a little more business than normal."
"Only because everyone wanted a turn under the plant," Arlene grumbled, throwing the mistletoe a glare. "I'm done, Sam. Good night."
"Merry Christmas," he said after her. He turned to Sookie and he smiled. "You can go, cher. I will finish up."
Sookie shook her head. "No, I'm fine, Sam. My guest won't mind me staying out a little later than normal."
Sam tucked the money he held in a bag and he looked back at her with a frown. "I don't understand you sometimes, Sookie. Why on Earth did you hook up with Eric freaking Northman? It was bad enough with Bill and then your stint with Quinn, who I didn't quite mind.."
"Was that because he was a weretiger and not a vampire?" she asked, irritated. She had had this conversation way too many times. "I know you care for me and want me to be with someone who is safe, but Eric is safe. He won't do what Bill did to me."
"Of course not. He's not your next-door neighbor," the shifter mumbled.
Sookie sighed and turned back to her cleaning.
-------------------------
"You here, Eric?" Sookie called into her living room, dropping her keys on a table.
"Of couse, lover," Eric chimed from the living room. Just hearing his voice sent a shiver down her spine. "Did you have a good time at work?"
"It was the same old," she replied, entering the room and sitting down next to the sofa, where he was splayed out. God, it took a lot of control to not look at his delicious body and jump him.
Eric tilted his head back and their eyes met. "So, why did you invite me over, Sookie? I doubt it was because you missed me so dearly." He grinned.
"I wanted to give you a decent Christmas."
He groaned. "Not this again. I told you that I do not celebrate Christmas and nor do I want to."
"At least accept my present to you."
He eyed her, eyes slightly narrow, but he did not protest. Sookie smiled and she stood up. With his eyes on her, she began to strip off her clothes, standing naked in front of her.
"What's this?"
She smiled and rested her body up against his, reveling in how hard his body was. "Your present. So, go ahead and unwrap me."
Eric's eyes lit up. "I just might like Christmas if I keep getting presents like this." He pulled her closer and kissed her deeply.
