yeah... Alex is fun to write, especially the scenes where she is with the Marauders. I am gonna go look back and see if I can get any kind of idea for the next chapter. Maybe include some interludes with our current couples. Who knows

sorry for the wait... here is more funness.
Chapter Forty (OMG)
"Catching up on homework?"
Alex jumped and whirled around to face Lucas, who was grinning and holding a stack of books in his arms. He set them down across from her and took a seat.
"Don't sneak up on me like that," Alex said.
"I would have thought, with James Potter as your brother, that you would be used to it by now."
She snorted. "Oh, yeah. There was this one time, when James had Sirius and Remus over, that he and Sirius thought it would be funny to practice some charms on me while I was asleep or when I was too busy wrapped up in something else. Thank Merlin I had Rache and Lynn as friends so I could go to their homes for awhile."
Lucas was silent, watching her face as she continued to walk down memory lane, reciting every incident that happened to her while the Marauders stayed at her home.
"Well, at least they weren't as terrible as what they do to Snape," he added after Alex told him a humiliating story. "And it seems as though they have stopped pranking him."
"Yeah, they have, and I have no idea why." Alex hated lying to the Ravenclaw but she didn't know Lucas enough to know if he could handle any of the information she normally would tell Lily, Rachel, and Caelyn. "Do you have any siblings?" she asked suddenly, wanting to get off the topic of her.
Lucas shook his head. "No. I'm an only child. My mother died a few years after I was born, so my dad raised me by himself while he worked. He remained a single parent. If I ever have any children, I would like for them to know both of their parents. I know that I have no control over that, especially if my wife or I die or something unstoppable, but I still wish that my kids would know both parents."
Alex felt a wave of sympathy toward him and she automatically reached over to cover his hand with hers. Lucas immediately enveloped her hand with his larger one, linking them together. They sat there like that for a long time, each forgetting about what they had set out to do originally. The two needed the comfort and support of each other. ----------------- "Gray, Harrison, stay behind for a moment."
Rachel and Caelyn remained standing in front of their master as everyone else left. The Hufflepuff was wondering what could be so important that her master would want them to stay behind and Caelyn looked pleased, as she always did. Rachel was very uncomfortable around this side of Caelyn. The Caelyn she knew would never be doing any of what she was currently doing.
Voldemort turned to them once the door closed. "I have a special mission for you both and I trust that you will complete it on time."
"Yes, Master," Caelyn purred.
"I want you both to start recruiting more students into our ranks. We need to build our numbers, especially for my plan. Bring as many as you can that are interested."
The two Marauderettes bowed and left the chamber, where Regulus was waiting.
"What happened?" he asked, walking on the other side of Caelyn, who looked like a cat who had a bowl of cream.
"We'll tell you later," Rachel hissed. "Somewhere where no one can hear us."
As they took the Knight Bus back to Hogsmeade, Rachel noticed the looks Regulus was giving her best friend, who was napping on a bed. The Hufflepuff Marauderette only hoped that he would soon tell her his feelings. She wanted her friend to be happy again, since her first two boyfriends were a major disaster, no matter that they were her true mates. -------------------- whew... done. Now, gotta go to bed.
