He followed her with his steal eyes as she sat down in a comfortable spot in the new prefects lounge. She sat on the couch opposite him and smiled to herself. She pulled a thick leather book, a quill and ink pot from her bag. She ran a hand through her think dark brown hair causing him to shudder. It drove him nuts when she did that; he wanted to be the one to do that to her. He should be the one to do it and not the one she’s with now. He had lost her, he had the perfect chance to win her over but he chickened out. Both their heads turned at the sound of the door opening. When she got a smile, a scowl came to his face.
“I was wondering where you went,” he said sitting down next to her, a level of calm shown in his voice that only came out when he was with her.
“Just wanted to get away,” She said and smiled at him when he kissed her cheek lightly.
Because of events that had happened recently she and her brother, the 2 kids to survive an attack from Voldemort, people wouldn’t leave them alone. The two stuck close to their friends, and she had begun to lean on the guy sitting next to her more because of it. She leaned against him, her dark hair contrasting to his red.
He kept a growl contained inside; trying to make appear that he was reading his book. He should be the one holding her not him. It should be his steal eyes to lock with her emerald not his blue. He was being quiet enough for them not to notice him. She was leaning against him writing in her book, his eyes watching the fire and every so often looking at her. He had his hand along the back of the couch, his other rubbing her arm gently; he kissed her temple lightly causing her to smile. He was sick of it, he slammed his book shut causing the two to jump apart and watch him stalk out.
“Wonder what’s up with the ferret?” he asked after he left the room, sitting back against the couch again.
“No clue Ron but he’s been weird ever since Trelawney gave him that private reading on Halloween.” She said sinking back into his arms again, her book forgotten on the floor, “and I don’t know why but it bugs me.”
“Same.” He said his arms wrapping around her pulling her close.
He let out a sigh and placed his head on her shoulder, his face in the crook of her neck. His breath on her neck gave her goose bumps, it always did. It did feel wonderful though.
“Where are Harry and Hermione?”
“At Hagrid’s, they promised yesterday that they would help him with a creature for Friday.”
“Okay.” She said smiling, she leaned her head back on to his shoulder and looked up at him. He leaned forward and smiled back at her, he leaned his head down and pressed his lips to hers, he could feel her smile into the kiss.
By the door Draco kicked the wall hard. He hated that he had her; the weasel had the girl that haunted his dreams at night. That is ever since Trelawney had given him that damn reading on Halloween.
(Flashback)
“Come on Draco.” Pansy said pulling him closer to the Halloween Carnival.
“Why am I going to this again?” he asked her, wanting to know why he was being led away from other things.
“Because it’s a chance to relax and laugh at people making fools of them selves.” Zambini said his arm around a Slytherin 6th year.
“What ever.” He scoffed as they headed through the carnival. After about 20 minutes Blaise and Pansy had convinced him to get a reading done by Trelawney.
“Fine, if it’ll get the two of you to leave me alone, then I’ll do it alright?” he said going into the tent.
“Please sit Mr. Malfoy,” the professor’s voice said from behind the crystal ball.
“So am I actually going to see anything?” he asked sarcastically sitting on the other side of the orb.
“If you’re lucky, now to look into your future.” She said her eyes focused on the ball in front of her, he gave a sigh and looked into it also.
His eyes grew droopy as the vision took over him; Dumbledore had made a spell so that the children actually could see it. Draco’s eyes closed and the vision came to his eyes.
*~*~*
“Honey I’m home!” Draco called flinging off his cloak, placing it on the coat rack.
He walked through the house to find his wife. There were a few different places she would be in the house: kitchen, living room or outside, it all depended on if the kids were home. He walked into the living room and smiled. She was sitting on the couch her feet up and a blanket over her legs, the book she had been reading face down in her lap, her head against the back of the couch as she napped. He walked over and replaced the bookmark to her book placing it aside. He sat behind her and pulled her closer to him. He kissed her forehead and ran his hand trough her dark brown hair. He was happy there, the happiest he had ever felt, and he always was with her, since she convinced him that his father’s word wasn’t law, when she had shown him that it was better to work for good than evil. He leaned forward slightly and kissed her lips, she then saw her emerald green eyes flutter open.
“Hello darling” she said smiling up at him, leaning forward for another kiss from her husband.
“Hello sweetheart, have a nice nap?” he asked when the parted from the kiss, his fingers entwining with hers.
“Yes very.” She said holding his arm close.
He then saw the curled up piece of parchment sitting on the table by the couch.
“Whose the letter from?” he asked, his free hand caressing her cheek.
“My brother letting me know his current wedding plans.” She said.
He brushed the hair from her forehead his hand brushing over the scar. The one he wished she and her brother had never gotten. Then her life wouldn’t have been such hell before the war.
*~*~*
Draco bolted out of the vision and stood knocking the chair backwards to the ground. That could not have been right. No way was she supposed to marry her! Especially since it was HER! The sister of the person he despised.
“Is something wrong my boy?” Trelawney asked.
“There is no way that THAT is my future!” He said pointing at the crystal ball on the table.
“The ball does not lie my dear, as you should know from my class.”
“No!” he shouted and stormed out of the tent. He walked passed Zambini and Parkinson and headed as far away from Trelawney’s booth. As continued he ran into someone knocking her down.
“Hey Ferret watch where you’re going!” the familiar voice of Weasly shouted at him.
He looked back and saw that it was her he had knocked over. He tried to say something but just kept going.
“Just ignore it Ron.” She said brushing off her pants; he could still here her voice as he continued getting away from the fair.
(End)
He leaned back against the wall and leaned his head back as well. Ever since that damn reading he had began to fall for her, which he had no desire to do what so ever but it just happened. When the 2 of them had been trapped in the Room of Requirements he had almost one her had her for his own when her brother and weasel busted in, interrupting the kiss they almost had.
“I was wondering where you went,” he said sitting down next to her, a level of calm shown in his voice that only came out when he was with her.
