Summary: Walburga and Orion Black wish to marry their eldest son, Sirius Black, off to a wealthy young princess so their line stays pure. So they intend to marry their son to Ashley Nelson, a young princess in Wales. Will the two get along and fall in love or will they detest each other to the point where the marriage doesn't work?
Notes: I will use the lyrics from the song "This is My Idea" and I will also include some description stuff to help the story along.

Walburga Black gave her son a push toward Ashley, who stood reluctantly in front of her father. She had her dark red hair braided into one strand that hung over her shoulder and she also had freckles on her face. Sirius couldn't believe that he was being pushed to do this.
Ashley stared at the scrawny kid in front of her. He didn't look like a prince to her. Sighing, she held out her hand politely, knowing that it wouldn't be right to not be polite. Sirius kissed it quickly and pulled back with a disgusted look on his face.

"I can’t believe I’m stuck with her all summer
I’ll bet she doesn’t wrestle, hunt or box
," Sirius thought to himself, wanting nothing more than to head back to his friends, Remus Lupin and James Potter.
"He looks conceited," Ashley mused.
"What a total bummer."
"If I get lucky I’ll get chicken pox," Sirius and Ashley thought together.
Sirius cleared his throat and gave a bow. "So happy you could come," he said reluctantly.
Ashley put on a fake smile and curtsied. "So happy to be here."
Their parents looked on with large smiles as the two got introduced to each other.
"How I’d like to run," the two thought to themselves.
"This is not my," Ashley sung softly under her breath.
"This is not my idea," Sirius breathed under his breath.
"Of fun," they finished together. By now, they had both their backs to each other as their parents walked off.

Walburga Black and Joesph Nelson walked together, thinking about their children and the upcoming marriage when they were old enough.
"The children seem to get along quite nicely," Walburga said, smiling.
"We’ll join our lands if this arrangement clicks," the older man replied.
The queen laughed. "My dear King Joesph, that’s my point precisely."
"It’s such good parenting," Joesph responded.
Behind them Ashley was on top of Sirius and was wrestling with him. They rolled over and over, fighting to be on top.
"And politics
So happy we agree," Walburga said.
"I think we’ve got a deal."
Ashley managed to get on top of Sirius and was proceeding to beat him up.
"Derek’s quite a catch," Walburga replied, turning to look at the children.
"This is my idea," Joesph began.
"This is my idea."
"Of a match," they finished together.
~*~*~*~
King Joesph stood at the bottom of the tower in his nicest clothes. Up high, Ashley stood on the patio, her hair braided into pig-tails and she wore a simple green dress. She was a few years older now and started to look a little prettier.
"Good heavens, child, don’t dawdle
We can’t keep Sirius waiting," he called up to her.
"I haven't packed or washed my hair
And father I get seasick," she called back. Ashley didn't want to leave her room at all. She hated Sirius and everything about him.
~*~*~*~
Walburga entered her son's room, hoping to get him moving. Sirius was on his bed, with a bow and arrow in hand. He strung up an arrow and let it go. It hit dead on a piece of parchment that had a drawing of a girl that looked like Ashley.
She sighed. "She soon will be arriving.
Is that respect you're showing?"
"You make me kiss her hand again
I swear I'm gonna be sick," Sirius replied. He shot another arrow at the drawing.
~*~*~*~
King Joesph walked down from the ship and greeted Queen Walburga whilst Ashley stood near the plank, not wanting to get off. She absolutely hated travelling by ship. Meanwhile, Sirius and James stood in the crowd of people. James had a slingshot in hand.
"One day Prince Derek will be her intended," King Joesph replied.
"Splendid," she replied happily.
Grinning, James took a tomato in hand and shot it at Ashley. It hit the side of the ship near her and she flinched back, looking disgusted. The two boys laughed as she glared.
~*~*~
Back at the castle, Sirius and James pretended that they were pirates, swinging wooden swords at each other. Ashley tried to keep up with them.
"We've tried all summer but we just can't lose her," Sirius said as he glanced out of the corner of his eye to see that she was catching up.
"Hey fellas, wait up!," she cried.
"Quick, put on some speed!" James said and immediately they ducked into a room, picking up the speed of their fight and feet.
Ashley huffed.
Soon the two were outside and climbed into their treehouse in the back yard of the castle. She stood at the bottom, looking up at them.
"When picking teams," Sirius said.
"Or friends," James replied, pulling up on the ladder so Ashley couldn't get up.
"I never choose her."
James pointed to the sign on the treehouse that read "No Girls". "You'd think she'd take a hint a learn to read." He laughed at Ashley.
"This really isn't fair," Ashley said, folding her hands over her chest.
"We really couldn't care," Sirius and James said back.
Ashley sighed. "Boys, it's all or none.
This is not my..."
"This isn't my idea."
"Of fun," they said together.
~*~*~
King Joesph and Ashley rode through the town on their horses with the guard behind them.
The whole town began to sing.
"Long before they met
Sirius and Ashley
Were destined to be wedded
However anyone could see
The only point on which they didn't disagree
Was that the very thought of summertime
Was dreaded
."
~*~*~
Now, the two are older, now into their young teen years. Ashley looks a whole lot better, with her freckles gone and her hair no longer braided childishly. Sirius looked on as she flirted with one of the guards with James watching, smirking. He knew that Sirius liked Ashley, with the way he was staring at her now.
"She tries to talk me into playing dress-up
She's always flirting with the castle guards," Sirius said bitterly, his arms crossed.
"I think you really sorta like her, 'fess up ," James replied, elbowing his friend. He ducked the swing from his friend.
Now the two were playing cards, with James looking over Ashley's shoulder. He was indicating with his fingers as to what cards she had.
"I'd like her better if she'd lose at cards," Sirius said, placing down his cards face up. "Four sevens and a ten."
Ashley put down her cards. Four aces. "I think I've won again."
Sirius pouted. "Every time she's won," he and James replied.
"This is my idea," said Ashley, smiling.
"This isn't my idea," Sirius said.
"Of fun," they said together.
~*~*~*~
Their parents forced them to ride into town together as part of spending time with each other. Sirius and Ashley sat seperated, sometimes making gestures behind their backs or doing something embarrassing to the other.
"We need a royal wedding
I'd love to be invited
At least we'd get a holiday to rest our ploughs and axes
Someday these two will marry
Two lands will be united
And with some luck their marriage may result in lower taxes
," the town sang.
King Joesph and Ashley began to board the ship back home while Queen Walburga and Sirius watched from the carriage. Suddenly, a tomato flew at Sirius, catching him in the face. While he fumed, everyone else laughed.
~*~*~*~
"What if Odette doesn't go for the merger?" King Joesph wrote to Walburga one day.
"Urge her!" she replied back.
~*~*~*~
Sirius and Ashley sat in their own rooms, thinking about the upcoming marriage.
"For as long as I remember
We've been told we'd someday wed
Every June until September
," they said to themselves.
~*~*~*
Queen Walburga tugged her son along with. Sirius tried to stop his mother from dragging him, but she wouldn't let go.
"All their pushing and annoying hints ," he replied.
"I've got bruises with their fingerprints," Ashley said, being pushed by her father toward the castle.
Sirius yelped as he was shoved into a room. He looks very handsome as he had grown taller and filled out his clothes. His dark hair was slightly mused.
"I can do much better I am sure ," Sirius said to himself.
He turned away just as Ashley was shoved into the room. She glared at the door.
"He's so immature ," she said.
They kept staring at the doors before turning around. Sirius and Ashley blinked as they saw each other. The feelings they slowly were feeling toward each other suddenly grew so much that their hearts were beating frantically.
