"Draco? Will you at least telling me where you are taking me?"
Draco Malfoy chuckled as he led his girlfriend, Alex Potter, blindfolded through the Hogwarts grounds. He was in front of her, grasping one of her slender hands in his. Today Alex wore a slimming green shirt and blue jeans and Draco found himself not caring for the way she was dressed.
"No can do, love," he responded. His laugh deepened by the pout that formed on her lips. "But we are almost there."
"Good. I don't like being blindfolded."
Draco finally stopped at the picnic blanket he had folded out earlier and he began to untie the silk fabric around his love's eyes. He smiled when he saw Alex's surprised but delighted face as she took in the sights.
"Oh, Draco. It's lovely." Alex wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him close. The Slytherin teen relished in her touch before pulling away, not wanting to waste the food the house-elves had packed.
Together, the Gryffindor and Slytherin settled down to a nice lunch by the lake, talking and watching the giant squid float toward the surface and also watched as some of Hagrid's thestrals fly lazily over their heads.
"I can't believe how lucky I am to have you," Draco murmured loud enough for her to hear.
She smiled. "I am too."
He nervously fingered a small box in his back pocket before he cleared his throat. "When I first met you, I was horrible to you. Even when I didn't know your name, I was an ass. Over the course of a few months, I felt disgusted at myself for falling in love with you. There was no way I would willingly date or even marry a Potter. Now I find myself disgusted with my previous behavior." He smiled at her. "You once related our relationship with a popular Muggle couple - Romeo and Julie? - our families divided and we came together, reuniting both houses." Draco got up so he was kneeling on one knee and one of his hands held a small velvet box. He wrenched it open and Alex gasped at the sight of a beautiful engagement ring with three sparkling diamonds with rubies and emeralds embedded in the band and around the diamonds. "Alexandra Lillian Potter, would you do make one of my wishes come true and become my wife? To become my soul-mate, my lover, and my confidante for all the world to see?"
Alex raised her emerald green eyes to meet Draco's light gray and he saw tears filling her beautiful eyes. She launched herself at him, screaming, "Yes, yes!" With a large smile, the Slytherin wrestled the ring from its cottony bed and slid the ring onto her finger.
"I love you, Alex," he whispered, pulling her close.
"I love you too, Draco." And she kissed him, further exciting his feelings of love and joy.
