Harry sat on a swing set pushing himself back and forth listening to the wind blow past him. He pumped his legs back and forth going higher and higher until he felt like he was going to fly right off the swing set. This used to be the only thing that made Harry happy when he was younger. That of course was before he had found out he was a wizard. It seemed like it had been so long ago, in truth it had only been 8 years. So much had happened since Hagrid had first burst down the door to the little shack the Dursley’s had rented. He had faced the dark lord Voldermort 6 times in his school years alone. He had defeated Voldermort by crushing Helga Hufflepuff’s cup when he was 17 and then everything should have been perfected like a story book…but nothing in Harry’s life was like a story book.
“There you are Harry.” A man walked up behind Harry and watching him swing.
“Hey,” Harry said while pumping his legs again to get up higher.
“What are you doing here Harry?” asked Remus Lupin, Harry’s old school Professor and the only living friend of Harry’s father.
“Swinging.” Harry answered simply.
“Harry.” Remus sighed.
“Want to join me?” Harry asked.
“Could you please stop swing?” Remus asked.
“No, I don’t really feel like.” Harry shrugged.
“…” Remus sighed again and walked over to the other swing next to Harry. “Harry, we need to talk about what happened.”
“What’s there to talk about?” Harry said.
“Harry, I know you’re in pain but-”
“You have no idea what I feel!” Harry put his feet in the dirt stopping him from moving.
“Harry…” Remus said watching the Boy who lived breath heavy and standing up.
“I'm not like you, Remus. I don't have anybody now!” Harry screamed at the man.
“What? Of course you do! You have me.” Remus went to hug Harry but Harry pulled away.
“No, I don't. You won't even look at me. It's so obvious you don't want me around!” Harry started to have tears form in his eyes.
“Harry, that's not true.” Remus stepped towards Harry wanting to comfort the Boy but not quite sure how.
“Yes it is. Hermione died, and it's like you don't even care!” Harry glared at the werewolf.
“Of course I care! How can you even think that? I loved Hermione just like my own daughter, just like how I love you.” Remus felt as if Harry’s words had slapped him across the face.
“Then why have you been avoiding me! Everyone has been avoiding me and giving me that look, like it’s my fault she’s dead!” Harry took his hand and whipped his eyes free of the tears that were threatening to spill over. “How am I going to raise the twins with out her? I don’t even know how to be a father and you keep pushing me away!”
“I didn't mean to push you away, I didn't. I just, I couldn't let you see me... Oh god, Harry. I’m so sorry. I thought that if I was strong you could deal better.” Remus pulled Harry into a hug and he felt Harry break down against his chest.
“I don’t know how to do this!” Harry subbed.
“Shh… we’ll figure it out together.”
