The cool mountain air was very refreshing and much cleaner than the air around the cities. It helped clear your mind and the stress almost flows out of you.
That was why Christina of Rohan had fled to the mountains. It was still in her country, but just far enough to be away from Man. Several men had abused her over the years. Her parents always sold her around, offering her in exchange for money. She grew up abused and broken. When she was old enough, she ran away from home. She never understood why her Ranger parents wanted to stay in such a city.
Her wolf companion, Raul, always stood by her side ever since she rescued him as a cub. Christina raised the young cub along with a falcon named Brenna. The three were a family to each other and knew how to communicate without actually speaking.
Strange creatures approaching, said Brenna from her perch overlooking the gorge.
Christina and Raul leaned over the edge of the cliff and spotted what Brenna had found. A large shadow was moving swiftly through the lands.
Sounds like Orcs to me, growled Raul. And smell like them too.
Seems like Mordor is stirring back up again. Raul, alert the others quickly. Brenna will send a message to the king. Everyone in Middle Earth needs to be warned. ~*~*~*~*~

Okay, We'll say before the movies then. That where we can be apart of it. ~*~ Frodo walked outside Bag End and looked up at the sky. It was a plasent day outside. It had been a week since his Uncle Bilbo had had his grand party and left to go live with the elfs. Gandalf had been the one to tell him of his uncle's plan. The Shire seemed so boring these days with out his Uncle to disturb the childeran with his stories. "Frodo Baggins!" came the vioce of Flora Gamwich, a young red haired Hobbit only a year younger then him but 1/2 a foot shorter. "Morning Flora." Frodo smiled happily. "Morning. Have you seen Merry?" Flora asked. "i've looked all over the Shire." "Can't say I have." Frodo shrugged. "I don't understand that Hobbit. Well, you want to come over for 2nd breakfast? I made it for Merry but he's late and I can't put my stomach off any longer." Flora smiled brightly. "Sure," Frodo closed the door to his Hobbit Hole and fallowed Flora down the path to her own home. "What are we having?" "Toast, jam, eggs, baccon, muffins, hotcakes, and some jiuce. Hope its not too little for you." Flora said opening the door to her Hobbit hole. "Should do." Frodo smiled. ~*~ Gandulf sat over a pile of scrolls loooking franticly threw the pages. until he found the one he wanted which read, "The year 3434 of the Second Age. Here follows the account of Isildur, High King of Gondor, and the finding of the Ring of Power. It has come to me, the One Ring. It should be an heirloom of my kingdom. All those who follow in my bloodline should be bound to its fate, for I will risk no hurt to the Ring. It is precious to me, though I buy it with a great pain. The markings on the band fade, the writing which was at first as clear as red flame has all but disappeared, a secret now only fire can tell."~*~

very nice. ~*~*~*~ Christina slung her pack around her shoulder and attempted to cover the remains of what had been her home.
Too bad we have to abandon this place, replied Raul. I was beginning to get attached to it.
Brenna and Christina shared an amused look. Raul, you were the one to pick the place out, said Brenna. Remember?
Christina attached a thick letter to Brenna's leg, tying it with a pice of string. Take that to King Theoden. He can then transfer it to the White City. And you know who to contact, Raul. Good luck. I'll meet you in Rivendell. I have a feeling that a council will be summoned.
With that, the young Rohan woman leapt off the cliff while Raul went north and Brenna took to the air. She landed firmly on the grass and began her journey to Rivendell, which would take a long time. Hopefully I will make it on time. I need to be there. ~*~*~*~ "Where is it!"
Frodo leapt up in the air as the voice of Gandalf roared through the house. The wizard rounded into the living room, looking crazed.
"Is it still safe?" Gandalf asked, this time lowering his voice.
"Yeah..." The young Hobbit walked over to a large chest and ruffled through it. The wizard stood guard, flinching at any kind of noise made. Then Frodo held up the envelope, which Gandalf took and threw into the fire.
"Hey!" Frodo exclaimed. Then he watched as the envelope crumbled as flames licked it, revealing the gold ring. ~*~*~*~ la de do... not much, but it's something.

Cool. we're joining the quest right?
~*~
Envelope burns away, revealing the Ring. Gandolf retrieves it from the fire with tongs and hands it to Frodo.
"It's quite cool. What can you see? Can you see anything?" Gandulf asked.
"No-wait. Theres something written on it, I can't make it out."
"Its elvish." Gandulf said.
"What's it say?" Frodo asked.
"The language is that of Mordor, which I shall not utter here. In the common tongue, it says, One Ring to rule them all, one Ring to find them. One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them. This is the One Ring, forged by the Dark Lord Sauron in the fires of Mount Doom, taken by Isildur from the hand of Sauron himself." Gandulf muttered.
"But Bilbo found it-"
"Yes. For sixty years, the Ring lay quiet in Bilbo's keeping, prolonging his life, delaying old age. But no longer, Frodo. Evil stirring in Mordor. The Ring has awoken. It's heard its master's call."
"Its master? But isn't he dead?"
"Sauron has returned. His orcs have multiplied. His fortress of Barad-Dur is rebuilt in the land of Mordor. Sauron needs only this Ring to cover all the lands in a second darkness. He is seeking it, seeking it, all his thought is bent on it. The Ring yearns above all else to return to the hand of its master. They are one, the Ring and the Dark Lord. Frodo, he must never find it." Gandulf sighed.
"Okay. We'll hide it then, right? No one knows its here. Right?" Frodo smiled hopefully.
"I looked everywhere for the creature Gollum, but the Enemy found him first. I don't know how long they tortured him, but amidst the endless screams and inane babble, they discerned two words. Shire. Baggins."
~*~ hand hurts.

i can see that either you know the movies very well... or you managed to find some transcripts of the movies online. I think we should be a part of the quest. Sound like a good idea? ~*~*~*~ "You must not stay here," spoke Gandalf as he helped Frodo pack. "Travel light, carry only the things you'll need. I must speak with the head of my order."
"Will I see you again?" the Hobbit asked.
The wizard smiled. "Of course. Meet me in the Prancing Pony and we shall decide from there where the Ring will go." ~*~*~*~ Christina moved swiftly through the countryside, hiding behind objects to avoid being caught. She knew she had about a few more days until she reached Rivendell. She could only hope that she could get there in time. ~*~*~*~

At that moment I was watching the first movie but yes I did find a transcript too. www.angelfire.com/film/rings/script/fellowship.html~*~ Frodo walked out of his house and bumped into Sam. "Mr. Frodo...I didn't hear anything!" Sam lied quickly looking slightly frightened by the tall Wizard behind Frodo. "What did you hear?" Gandulf growled. "Nothing important. That is, I heard a good deal about a ring, and a dark lord, and something about the end of the world, but please don't hurt me, sir, don't turn me into anything unnatural." Sam whined. "No, I wont turn you into anything...You will go with Frodo on his quest, watch over him Samwise." Gandulf said nodding at his own idea. ~*~ The two Hobbits are walking across a field and Sam suddenly stops whwere he's walking. "Sam?" Frodo asked. "This is it." Sam said. "What?" Frodo asked walking back to Sam. "If I take one more step, it will be the farthest away from home I've ever been." Sam smiled shyly. "Frodo? Sam?" Flora Gamwich asked comming out of a Corn row ahead of them. "Flora!" Frodo smiled. "What are you doing here?" "What I'm always doing." Flora sighed. "looking for Merry?" Sam asked. "That'd be it." Flora looked at their packs. "Going on Holiday?" "Something like that." Sam shifted his bag. "You wont tell anyone will you?" Frodo asked. "Who'd I tell? I've always wanted to go on Holiday myself." Flora shrugged. "Mind if I walk with you for a while?" "Not at all." Frodo smiled. "Frodo," Sam whispered. "What about what Gandulf said?" "Sam, we're still in the Shire. What could happen?" Frodo shrugged. Suddenly Sam and Frodo are knocked over by Merry and Pippin. "Frodo! Merry, it's Frodo Baggins!" Pippin smiles lopsidedly as he gets up off of Sam. "Ello Frodo." Merry said smiling down at Frodo. "Merry!" Flora said running over to him helping him to his feet. "Flora, what are you doing out here?" Merry asked handing an arm full of vegetables to Sam. "You've been into Farmer Maggot's crops again?!" Flora asked crossing her arms. "Hey! You get out of my fields! You'd better watch out when I catch up with you!" Came the over raged vioce of Farmer Maggot and a bark of some dogs. All five of the Hobbits went running out of the corn feild as fast as they could. "don't why he's so upset, it's only a few carrots." Merry said dodging a kick that was aimed at him from Flora. "And some cabbages. And those three bags of potatoes we lifted last week. And then mushrooms the week before that." Pippin said listing off on his fingers. "Yes, Pippin! Thank you. My point is, he's clearly overreacting." Merry said helping Frodo up from tripping. "Merry I can't believe you-" They all fall over a cliff, land in a heap. Pippin lands inches away from a pile of manure. "Ooh! That was close." Pippin remarked sitting up. "I think I've broken something." Merry moaned as he pulls out a broken carrot. "Trust a Brandybuck and a Took!" Sam muttered. "You nearly got us killed!" Flora said pushing Frodo off of her. "What? That was just a detour! A shortcut!" Merry smiled. "Everyone alright?" Frodo asked helping Flora up. "Shortcut to what?" Sam asked. "Mushrooms!" Pippin exclaimed. "I have a full garden at home, you know Merry. There is no need for you to steal!" Flora said crossing her arms. "There is no way for me to answer that with out making you angery." Merry said stuffing mushrooms into a bag with Pippin. "I think we should get off the road." Frodo said looking down at the road. ~*~

ah yes... get off the road, Frodo *smirks evilly*
I've two wittle sickies in the house. *cough* Mom and Shannon *cough* Mom is still sore from the surgery and is on painkillers but is fine. Shannon probably has bronchitis. ~*~*~*~ Frodo pushed his comrades off the road, underneath a rock in a small cavity.
"What was that for?!" Merry shouted, only to have three hands be placed over his mouth.
They heard the sound of a horse approaching and attempted to not make a sound. The horse whinnied as it stopped abruptly. Someone wearing armor had jumped off the horse, as the metal clinked distinctively. A wicked set of gloves gripped the edge of the small cliff.
Pippin tried not to whimper as a spider crawled down his shoulder. All around them, insects and worms writhed, but they made no sound. Finally, the glove disappeared and the horse was off again. ~*~*~*~ "What was that?" panted Pippin as they escaped from the area. They had stopped for a second to catch their breath.
Neither Frodo nor Sam answered as they too were worn out. Merry eyed them suspiciously while an arm slid around Flora.
"They are after someone, aren't they?" he asked. ~*~*~*~ King Theoden was surprised when he saw a falcon slide in through a window in the main hall. Both his niece and nephew glanced up too. Finally, the older man tore the letter off the bird and unrolled it.
King Theoden,
I have bad news, I'm afraid. While out in the countryside, I spotted Orcs coming from the direction of Mordor. They were headed toward Isengard. I just wanted to warn you in case something does happen and our country is siezed.
Please send a message to the White Castle. We need to be ready.
Sincerely, Christina of Rohan
"What is it, Uncle?" his nephew asked. ~*~*~*~ Christina set up camp as the sky darkened and the sun sank into the horizon. She could only hope that her message would get to the King soon. Sighing, she pulled the rough blanket over her form and slept. ~*~*~*~ eh.. short but educational.

Indeed.
~*~
"What makes you say that?" Pippin asked.
"The fact they were looking under the road?" Flora asked.
"I don't want to get you involved." Frodo said.
"I think we deserve to know whats going on!" Flora said.
"I have to leave the Shire. Sam and I must get to Bree." Frodoa said.
"Right. Bucklebury ferry. Follow me." Merry motioned and the group ran after him. They run, but the Dark man on a horse is right behind them. Frodo gets separated from the rest, who get to the ferry ahead of him.
"Get the rope, Sam!" Flora yelled as They untie the ferry.
"Run, Frodo!" Pippin yelled.
"Go!" Frodo yelled.
"Hurry!" Merry yelled pointing to the Rider right behind him.
"Frodo!" Sam yelled.

ah yes... jump Frodo! lol ~*~*~*~ Frodo leapt over the fence and rushed across the planks of the dock. The Rider was catching up to him quickly.
"Frodo, hurry!" screamed Flora as Merry and Pippin readied the oars.
The Hobbit sprang forward and fell down hard onto the raft. Sam pulled him more toward the center and the five Hobbits glanced back, seeing the four Riders stop at the shore of the lake.
"That was too close," replied Sam.
"It won't be long until we're in Bree," said Merry. "At least we can relax for awhile." ~*~*~*~ Christina stopped at a town a few miles from Rivendell. She had caught up with Raul, who had rallied the wolves to their cause.
Good. Now, I want you to go to Rivendell. Alert the elves that I will be coming soon and that I would like to help in any way possible.
I will, lupa, responded Raul. He gave the Ranger a quick lick on the cheek before rushing off again, his tail erect.
The Ranger sighed and walked toward a hotel, fishing out some coins. It would be much better than sleeping out on the ground. ~*~*~*~ short, but something. grr... later on I will have longer chapters, but i want to draw out my arrival to Rivendell. Hope you all had wonderful Thanksgivings!

It sucked. ~*~
The five Hobbits walk up to the gate in the pouring rain. Frodo knocks on the gate. A man peqaks out a high window and doesn't see anyone so he goes to a lower window.
"What do you want? Hobbits. Five hobbits! What business brings you to Bree" He growled.
"We're heading to the inn. Our bussiness is our own!" Frodo said.
"Oh." The Gatekeeper opened the gate and they arrival at the Prancing Pony.
"Excuse me?" Frodo asked.
"Good evening, little masters. If you're seeking accommodation, we've got some cozy hobbit-size rooms available, Mr...?" The inn keeper asked.
"Underhill. My name's Underhill." Frodo lied.
"Underhill. Hmm" The inn keeper looked at the hobbits with intest.
"We're friends of Gandalf the Grey. Can you tell him we've arrived?" Frodo asked quickly.
"Gandalf? Gandalf? Ohhh, yes! I remember. Elderly chap, big grey beard, pointy hat. Not seen him for six months." The inn keeper shrugged and turned torwards another customer.
"What do we do now?" Flora asked.
~*~
"Sam, he'll be here. He'll come." Frodo said as the group were sitting at a table in the bar.
Merry sits down at the tabel with a large glass.
"What's that?" Flora asked.
"This, my dear, is a pint." Merry smiled.
"It comes in pints? I'm going to get one." Pippin got upo from the tabel.
"you've had a whole half already." Sam muttered.

Flora gave a snort as Pippin ran to get a pint. Frodo continued to worry about Gandalf, so he didn't notice Sam tapping his shoulder until he gave a sharp poke.
"That man has been staring at you since we have arrived."
Frodo glanced in the direction Sam was pointing to. A cloaked man in the shadows was smoking from a pipe. His face was shadowed so no one could identify him. As the bartender passed, the Hobbit tugged on the man's shirt.
"Who's that man, in the corner?"
"He's one of them Rangers. Their dangerous folk, they are, wandering the wild. What his right name is I've never heard, but around here he's known as Strider." ~*~*~*~ short, but dunno what else to write. 'sides, I am getting tired.

~*~
"Strider? "Frodo asked himself seeming to have heard the name before.
"Baggins? Sure I know a Baggins. He's over there. Frodo Baggins. He's my second cousin, once removed on his Mother's side. And my fourth cousin twice removed on..." Pippin said drinking more of his drink talking to the men at the bar.
"Pippin!" Frodo runs torwards the bar but trips and the ring falls on to his finger and he disapperes from sight. The patrends in the bar scream. Frodo takes off the ring and is dragged out of the room by Strider.
"You draw far too much attention to yourself," Strider said.
"What do you want? "Frodo asked struggling to get out of Strider's grip.
"A little caution from you, that's no simple ring you carry." Strider whispered.
"I carry nothing," Frodo said meakly.
"indeed? I can avoid being seen if I wish, but to disappear entirely - that is a rare gift." Strider laughed heartly.
"Wh-Who are you?" Frodo asked.
"Are you frightened?" Strider asked.
"Yes?" Frodo asked.
"Not nearly enough." Strider said.
The four hobbits enter the room where Strider has taken Frodo holding out weapons.
"Give him back!" Sam growled.
"Sam," Frodo smiled greatfully at sam.
"Let him go or we'll take you." Merry said.
"Yeah," Flora and Pippin who looked like he had been hit a couple times said.

Strider looked at the Hobbits before smiling. He sheathed the sword he had instinctively drawn.
"You have a stout heart, little hobbit, but that will not save you. You can no longer wait for the wizard, Frodo. They are coming."
"H-how do you know my name?" Frodo asked.
"Your little friend doesn't know how to keep his mouth shut." The Man sent an amused look over at Pippin. ~*~*~*~ Five Riders snaked into Bree, looking for the Hobbit with the Ring. The inhabitants of the town fled or hid from the frightening creatures.
They reached the Inn and entered quickly, gliding up the stairs into a Hobbit-sized room. Five beds were set up, the occupants sleeping happily. One Rider stood over one bed. They started stabbing the lumps on the beds. It was then that they noticed that no one screamed. No blood flowed either. ~*~*~*~ The Hobbits woke up to hear the screeches of the creatures. Strider is already awake, standing by the window.
"What are they?" Frodo asked softly. Strider never turned from the window, but answered.
"They were once men. Great kings of men. Then Sauron the Deceiver gave to them nine rings of power. Blinded by their greed, they took them without question, one by one falling into darkness. Now they are slaves to his will. They are the Nazgul, Ringwraiths, neither living nor dead. At all times they feel the presence of the ring, drawn to the power of the One. They will never stop hunting you." He then heaved a sigh. "We must leave now. Pack your things." ~*~*~*~ As they left Bree, Strider made sure they avoided roads. The Hobbits followed as fast as they could.
"Where are you taking us?"
"Into the wild," replied the dark-haired man, tugging on the pony's reins.
The group walked for a long while until Merry spoke up.
"How do we know this Strider is a friend of Gandalf?" He glanced over to Strider, who seemed to not hear the comment.
"We have no choice but to trust him." Frodo answered. Flora gave a snort.
"Yeah right."
"But where is he leading us?" Sam asked.
This time, Strider answered. "To Rivendell, Master Gamgee, to the house of Elrond."
"You hear that? We're going to see the elves!"
"Awesome!" said Flora with a smile. "I have always wondered what elves looked like!" ~*~*~*~ there we go!
