Prologue
No one could believe that Hufflepuff graduate Rachel Harrison or Ravenclaw graduate Caelyn Gray would ever turn against them, into the embrace of the Dark Lord. There were some, however, that could understand. Caelyn had her heart broken two times, by her mates Remus Lupin and Severus Snape, and had slipped into a depression. Also, what people didn't know was that she was a werewolf and not just any kind of werewolf: she was a born werewolf. As her emotions ran wild, her wolf decided to take some action. She began to grow cold and distant and it was only a matter of time until she accepted Voldemort's offer.
Rachel's betrayal was the one that shocked everyone. She was a bubbly and energetic woman, completely in love with Lucius Malfoy. That is, until he broke their relationship by sleeping with Narcissa Black, a fellow Slytherin. She was dealing with it nicely, so no one suspected a thing. When Voldemort revealed his two favorite Death Eaters one day, the world could not believe that Rachel stood up there proudly.
Caelyn and Rachel proved to be ruthless and unmerciful in their killings. No matter how many times their old friends (Lily Evans-Potter and Alex Potter-Issacs) pleaded with them, the two never turned from their master.
What no one knew, though, was that Caelyn married her recent boyfriend, Regulus Black. The marriage was secret and very hush-hush. Not even Voldemort knew it. But when Voldemort saw that Caelyn was pregnant, he withdrew her from the battle field, figuring she found a follower and got knocked up by the man. He wanted the child to grow and be born into a new world. He had withdrawn Rachel a few months earlier than Caelyn, worried about the child growing inside her. Now the two women laid in bed, bored out of their minds while their children grew.
Finally, on June 5th of 1980, Rachel gave birth to a beautiful boy. She named him Draconius Harrison, as she was not married and had not told anyone of who fathered the child. Draconius, or Draco, had blonde fuzz on top of his head and the blue eyes every baby was born with until they changed to obsidian, just like his mother.
It was in the middle of August when Caelyn's children were born. They were a set of twins, one boy and one girl. Smiling, the proud mother named her son Riley Black and her daughter Naomi Black. Regulus stayed by his wife's side, smiling with pride. Riley was born with light brown hair and later his eyes changed to the blue-gray of his mother; Naomi, however, had her mother's blonde hair and her eyes turned an amber color. Caelyn and Regulus were quick to explain that she might have been born a werewolf, just like her mother had been. No one argued that.
Unfortunately, fate was not shining down on the Blacks. That night, Caelyn and Regulus woke to hear screams and cries from their childrens' nursery. Hurrying, the two ran to the nursery, only to discover that Naomi was unconscious and Riley was gone. Caelyn kneeled by Riley's crib, sobbing while her husband woke Naomi and cradled her in his arms, tears in his eyes. Riley Black was never seen after that day, declared dead.
And, sometime in early September, Regulus Black died. Kreacher, the Black family elf and a loyal servant to both Voldemort and Regulus, told him that he was killed when he chickened out of a mission. The world was lead to believe that he was killed that way, but only Caelyn, his wife, knew what truly happened. He had told her his plan the other night before.
"Caelyn, love," Regulus whispered, sitting by the bed. "You know that I have been defying our Lord for some time now. I honestly do not believe what he is doing. I just can't live with what he is doing, so I will be doing something about it." He placed an envelope at her bedside.
"No," she whispered, her eyes tearing up.
"If I were not to make it, be sure to put that inside this," he placed a gold locket beside it. It vaguely resembled the Slytherin Horcrux Voldemort had hidden. "Be sure Kreacher hides this somewhere, if I didn't beforehand."
"Regulus, don't do this." The female werewolf wiped her eyes. "Please. We lost Riley. I don't want to lose you too."
"I have to do this. I know you don't agree with what he is doing anymore these days, the same for Rachel."
Mentioning Rachel these days was something no one ever did. A short time that Riley was declared dead, her own son was taken. Everyone believe he too had died. The loss of her son devastated her more than Riley's loss on Caelyn. At least Caelyn had Naomi.
"I know, but why now? Couldn't it wait?"
Regulus shook his head. "No, love." He kissed her, savoring what he thought would be his last night with his wife. He pulled away and left, throwing on his Death Eater robes.
The next day he was dead. Caelyn, sobbing, had done a Memory Charm on a few fellow Death Eaters, making everyone believe that Regulus chickened out of a mission and was killed. She had been visited by Kreacher when she woke. He took the locket and the message and before he left, he told her that she was always welcome in the house of Blacks. She thanked him and continued to sob.
It was on Halloween in 1981 that changed everything. During July of 1980, Voldemort heard from his spy that a child was to be born with the power to stop him and that's all he had heard before being kicked out of the bar. Mad with rage, the Dark Lord went in search of such a child. He heard that the Potters had a child on July 31, the birthday of the prophecy child. He tried to attack the Potter family but the three times he did, they managed to escape his grasp.
Rachel and Caelyn had been torn between their loyalties toward their master and the friendship of their once friends. No one knew that the two had helped the Potters escape and only Lily knew who had truly helped her and her family out. She thanked them profusedly until Rachel threw her into the fire, calling out the destination James had called out earlier.
That Halloween, Voldemort was defeated by little Harry Potter, who was only a year old, the same age of Caelyn's daughter. The Death Eaters disbanded, some going to Azkaban for their crimes, some pleading being submitted to the Imperius Curse.
Rachel and Caelyn slipped away without being questioned and bought themselves a nice cottage near a forest. They lived in a small Muggle town in Ireland, raising Naomi the best they could. Rachel started to work at the local pub, bartending while also singing karoke every Tuesday and Thursday while Caelyn used her schooling to get a job as a defense attourney.
Life, it seemed, had quieted down for the magical and Muggle world. Oh, how wrong they were.

Chapter One
"You left my heart as empty as a Monday morning church"
"Oh my God, get him off stage!" shouted someone from the crowded bar.
Rachel Harrison snickered as she poured another mug of beer and slid it to her customer, setting her face into a seductive smile. Karoke nights were always popular at the Red Leprechaun pub in the small Ireland town. She knew it was because she would get up on stage and do her thing; entertain the crowd with her singing and sensual dancing. Glancing into the crowd, she smirked at her long time best friend, Caelyn Gray-Black. She was staring at the kid on stage, nursing a glass of vodka. Her case hadn't ended well and while she left Naomi, now aged fourteen going on fifteen, with a neighbor, she planned on getting drunk.
Caelyn Gray (she didn't use her married name) was a well-known Irish defense attourney. She won nearly every case she picked, with a few exceptions. The ones she lost, she went to Rachel's work and ordered a glass of vodka.
Slipping away from the bar, she left Richard in charge while she went over to her friend, occasionally saying hi to some customers and swaying her hips seductively.
"Feeling any better yet?" Rachel asked, sitting down on the chair next to her.
"A little," Caelyn replied and she finished her drink in one gulp.
Rachel looked up when the crowd cheered as the off-key, country boy jumped off the stage. One of her co-workers, Jason, went up to the microphone, looked relieved.
"Oh, my turn," Rachel said. "I'll see you back at home."
"Alright," Caelyn said. She slipped a few bills into Rachel's hand and got up, walking toward the front door.
Rachel went up stage, grinning at the introduction Jason gave and the cheers from the crowd. She reached for the microphone and stared at the little tv monitor that would show the lyrics. Recognizing the song, she began to sway her hips to the opening music.
"Oh, I, I, I I wanna be bad with you, baby Oh, I, I, I I wanna be bad with you baby" ~*~*~ "Are you sure, Headmaster?"
Albus Dumbledore stared grimly out amongst the newly assembled Order of the Phoenix. They were staring up at him with disbelief written amongst their faces.
"Are you sure going to Gray and Harrison is our only chance?" Sirius Black asked. "You do remember what they did to us..."
"Yes, Sirius," Dumbledore replied, "but they were the closest to Voldemort and I feel we should ask them to join us. They will help us understand Tom and therefore help Harry fight and kill Voldemort."
"I understand why you think that, Dumbledore," Remus Lupin responded, "but they betrayed us. In the worst way possible."
"I don't blame them," came a voice from the shadows. "I mean, look at what happened during their school years. They were well within their rights to take revenge."
"I agree with my wife, Headmaster," said the man beside the woman in the shadow. "Alex is right. Look at how they were treated."
Alex grinned at her husband.
"Still, we don't need their help," Molly Weasley said.
"Maybe you should ask them," Alex's husband, Lucas Issacs, replied, smirking. ~*~*~*~ Harry stared out the window of his bedroom in Privet Drive. His windows remained barred, not allowing any owls to come inside at all. His own owl, Hedwig, was locked inside her cage and was hooting softly, trying to reassure her master.
"I wish these bars were off, Hedwig," he said, striding over to her. He petted her feathers. "Then you could fly and then I could read what my friends and godfather are sending." He sighed, rubbing his scar absently.
Recently, his scar had been flaring, showing him images of what Voldemort was doing and the attacks he participated in. He wanted to alert Dumbledore and Sirius but he couldn't. Instead, he began to journal the visions so that when he met them he could hand over the journal and demand what was going on. ~*~*~*~ Naomi returned home, thanking Mrs. Brennan for having her over. Putting her bag down by the door, she entered the kitchen. Her mother was seated at the kitchen table while Rachel was at the stove, happily singing some song and poking some pancakes on the pan.
"Morning!" Rachel chirped, ruffling her goddaughter's hair.
"Hey! Gerroff!" Naomi cried, shifting her blonde hair back in place. She took a seat and stared at her mom. "Lost a case?"
"Yeah," Caelyn replied, rubbing her eyes under her reading glasses. She had the newspaper out on the table, reading it over. "Sleep well last night?"
"It was alright. I wished I was home, though," she said.
Naomi knew when her mom lost a case, because she would ask her to go over to Mrs. Brennan while her mother went to the pub and ordered a drink. A drunk werewolf was not a happy werewolf, as her godmother, Rachel, told her. Besides, Caelyn wanted Naomi to be safe just in case the werewolf did drink a little too much.
The sound of a knock on their door made the three women stare at the front door nervously. Rachel dropped her spatula to the counter and headed toward the door.
"How can I..." she began but froze to see who was standing in the doorway.
It was Lucius Malfoy. ~*~*~*~ cliffhanger! Wait until tomorrow to see what happens

yup... Lucius entered the building ^^
Chapter Two
Rachel immediately slammed the door in Lucius' face, her back now to the door. Caelyn and Naomi noticed that she was pale.
"Oh Merlin," the Veela breathed. "It's him, Lynn."
Caelyn raised one eyebrow, something she learned from Snape. "Yes, I noticed. Why don't you open the door, apologize, and let him in? It's common curtesy."
Grumbling, Rachel opened the door. Lucius was still standing there with a smile on his face.
"I'm sorry for slamming the door on your face," she mumbled, stepping aside to let him in.
"Apology accepted, Rachel," the blonde man replied and he stepped into the cottage, his eyes roaming until they landed on the two Gray women. "Ah, Naomi. You are looking almost as lovely as your mother. How old are you?"
Naomi blushed. "Fourteen, sir."
"A lovely age. My son is the same age as you are, in fact." Lucius nodded to Caelyn. "You are looking lovely as well, Caelyn."
"You too Lucius," Caelyn said politely. "Take a seat and tell us why you are here."
"Anything to drink for you?" Rachel asked automatically. She had been so used to saying that at work that she said it when they had guests, which wasn't too often.
"I'm fine, thank you," Lucius replied, sitting down at the kitchen table. Rachel followed.
"Naomi, I think you should go upstairs and tidy your room," the female werewolf replied smoothly, her eyes locked on the blonde man sitting across from her.
"Right." Naomi finished her glass of orange juice and headed upstairs, knowing what kind of conversation they were going to be talking about.
Once Naomi was gone, Lucius cleared his throat. "Have you noticed your marks have been burning?"
"Every fucking day," Rachel said, her hand going automatically to her left arm.
"We know what it means already, Luc," Caelyn replied. "We felt the first burning last year and all the way through to June, then it became frequent that we would feel it."
"Our Lord has sent me to ask you if you would rejoin him, take back your places at his side as his most trusted and most loyal servants."
Caelyn and Rachel glanced at each other before turning their gazes back to him. Lucius could tell they were undecided by the looks in their eyes.
"Could you give it a few days for us to decide?" Caelyn said. "After all, you all know I started trusting the Dark Lord less after he had Regulus killed."
The former Slytherin nodded. "I understand. I will come back in a few days to ask for your answer." He rose gracefully from the chair and said farewell, leaving the cottage.
"That- that bastard!" Rachel hissed, her eyes flashing. "Who does he think he is, coming to our home and wanting to know if we were going to rejoin the master. Idiot!"
"So I take it you have you answer," Caelyn said dryly. "I know I have mine." ~*~*~*~ "Why me?" Severus Snape asked, looking incrediously at his fellow comrades.
"You were closer to them than we were," Mr. Weasley said, "besides, they know you are a supporter, which you aren't, and they won't be likely to slam the door in your face should they see you."
"Just because I was a 'loyal' servant along with them in the past war, it doesn't mean that they want to talk to me. For all we know, they don't want anything to do with them. Honestly, I don't blame them," he added under his breath.
"Pardon?" Sirius said, leaning forward.
The former Death Eater let out a sigh. "Next time you go around trying to get your damned family tapestry down, check it again. And this time, don't skim over your brother."
"Why? Tell me what you are trying to say."
Severus glanced around and saw that he had everyone's attention. He ran a hand through his hair. "Some of you might remember that Regulus Black was dating Caelyn Gray by the time they both graduated. What some didn't know was that later on, Regulus asked her to marry him. I witnessed the whole proposal, as I was Regulus' friend. I was best man and Rachel Harrison was maid of honor. We both witnessed the marriage and the... pregnancy."
"P-pregnancy?" Remus sputtered.
"Caelyn was pregnant with two healthy babies. Rachel too had her own child, a son. When the children were born, you could see how happy the women were. Hell, even the Dark Lord was excited. Unfortunately, tragedy struck both of them. One night, Caelyn and Regulus' son, Riley, was kidnapped and never found. Another night, Rachel's son was taken as well. Both boys are declared dead. If they lived, they would be fourteen right now."
Molly Weasley, despite having hated the two women, had tears in her eyes. She couldn't imagine what they had gone through, losing their sons. "How horrible."
Severus nodded. "Yes, it was a difficult time for the both of them. But something else happened to Caelyn that lost most of her trust in the Dark Lord; the death of her husband. She absolutely refused to do any missions, locking herself in her room with only her daughter for company. Rachel too locked herself up after everything had happened."
"If I didn't hate them so much, I would sympathize with them," Charlie Weasley said. "First their children were taken and then Gray's husband was killed."
Sirius, during all of this, had gone white. He couldn't believe that he was now related to his brother's wife, his sister-in-law. Merlin help me. ~*~*~*~*~ A knock on the door made Rachel jerk, nearly slicing off her finger with the knife he held in his hands. She went to the door and opened it slightly before throwing it open.
"Severus! Looking good," she said with a smile.
"So are you," he replied. "Is Caelyn around?"
"No, at work. She won't be home until sundown and that's when I'm at work. I just take care of the munchkin that is my goddaughter. Why?"
Severus took in a breath and released it. "I know you may think this strange, but Albus Dumbledore sent me here. He has a proposition for you."
Rachel's jaw tightened. "Old Bumblebee, huh? Finally admitted he's off his rocker?"
The former Slytherin couldn't help but chuckle. "Unfortunately, no. But he wanted me to extend his hand and ask for you to join our cause. He knows that your loyalty and love for the Dark Lord is almost nonexistant. He would like your help in taking him down for good, as you were our Lord's most trusted."
It took the former Hufflepuff a minute before she laughed. "So you are the spy! Oh, that's hilarious! All this time, it was his favored Potions Master." She quickly sombered at his look. "Why don't I run it past Caelyn when she gets home and I'll send you an owl with our reply. Already old Lucius has been around here this morning, before Lynn left."
"I see. And what did he offer you?"
She glowered at him. "What do you think? You have brains in between your ears. Use them."
He finally let out a sigh. "I already have. Now I must be on my way. I have potions to attend to."
"Good day Severus," Rachel said before shutting the door. ~*~*~*~*~*~ Wormtail couldn't understand why his master had sent him away to this Muggle surburban. He really couldn't. Didn't he know that if he even thought one single harmful thing about the boy that the wards would be set off and the Order will be alerted that something was wrong?
He let out a sigh in his rat form and inched closer toward Number Four Privet Drive, hoping that nothing went wrong when he tried to go through the blood wards surrounding the house. ~*~*~*~

Chapter Three
"Severus was here."
Caelyn choked on her tea. When she stopped coughing, she looked at her friend. "What? He was here? What for?"
Rachel then started snickering. "Did you know he was the traitor all this time? And here I thought little Wormtail would be it. But anyway, old Dumbles wants us to join his little order, as we know the Dark Lord very personally."
"Very," Caelyn muttered, shuddering as the memories flooded her mind. "So, Bumblebee wants us, huh?"
"We could consider it. I mean, it's not like we're going to be rejoining the Dark Lord any time soon."
The werewolf glanced at the Veela. "You're fucking serious?"
Rachel smirked. "Well.. not yet, but he is a fine specimen isn't he?"
She groaned. "No time for jokes, Rache."
"But I thought you didn't want to join him again..."
"And I don't, but joining old Bumblebee? You must have a death wish or something, because they hate our guts."
"They must not if they sent old Sevvie-poo out here with an invitation."
The front door opened and the two women stopped talking, not wanting to say a word about what was going on in front of Naomi. ~*~*~*~*~ Harry was finishing his Transfiguration essay when he heard a loud shrieking noise that sounded a lot like a car alarm. He peered outside but saw no cars were flashing their lights nor anyone running. He frowned, feeling confused.
He never saw a gray rat scampering away, frightened by the alarms and that he would be found. ~*~*~*~ Dumbledore had sent a small team to see what had happened at Privet Drive while instructing the others to get some sleep. Remus and Sirius clearly wanted to go and check on Harry but Dumbledore gave them such a stern face that they obeyed him.
Remus lay on his bed, staring at the far off wall, thinking back to what Severus had said about Gray and Harrison. He couldn't help but feel sad for their losses, especially for Caelyn. Letting out a sigh, he fell into a light sleep, his dreams consisting of seeing Caelyn again. ~*~*~*~ short but all i can think of for now

Chapter Four
"I don't understand why you talk me into doing things like this," Caelyn grumbled as she helped Rachel up from the floor. Rachel had always fallen on her butt whenever she Apparated ever since she was first introduced to it.
"Because you love me. Now, time for you to say the words to reveal Grimmauld Place to us."
The werewolf glared at her friend and stood in front of the long line of homes. She opened her mouth and said, "Reveal yourself to me, Number 12 Grimmauld Place!"
"And here I thought there would be some cool chanting or something," she heard Rachel mutter.
The space between numbers 11 and 13 grew larger, revealing another house with the number 12 on it. It looked the same as the other houses: gloomy and dark.
Rachel rushed forward and stood at the door, her werewolf friend following at a slower pace. The Veela took in a breath and knocked. ~*~*~*~ The Order was in the middle of a meeting when they heard a loud knock on the door followed by Mrs. Black's shrieking. Alex and Lucas Issacs, still new to the Order, held back their snickers and continued to pour over the blueprint they had in front of them.
"I'll get it," Sirius grumbled, standing up. "I thought I told everyone to not knock on the blasted door."
"You did," Remus replied, following his friend. Together they shut the curtains around the portrait and headed to the door. Sirius unlocked the bolt and pulled the door open... to stare in shock at who was on the other side of the door.
"Hello Black," Rachel Harrison replied dryly. "Looking good for being out of Azkaban for a few years and on the run."
"What are you doing here, Death Eaters?" Sirius hissed.
"We would like to speak to Dumbledore about his offer he made us a few days ago," she continued, crossing her arms over her chest.
While Sirius and Rachel argued, Remus was staring at Caelyn, who stared back at him. He couldn't believe how beautiful she still was. He had figured that age had made her lose her beauty but it only enhanced it.
"Hello Remus," she said softly.
He then remembered all the thing she did underneath Voldemort's instructions and he glared at her. "You have some nerve coming here."
"Nice to see you too," Caelyn said. "I was trying to be nice here and you all of a sudden treat me like trash. Merlin, you haven't changed."
"Funny," he replied dryly. "You've changed quite a bit."
She made a sound low in her throat and turned to Rachel. "You know what, I'm going back home. I don't know why I followed you here. I should have left you to figure out how to see..."
"Oh no you don't," Rachel said, tugging on Caelyn's arm. "You'll go in with me, whether you like it or not." She turned back to the two former Marauders. "Please let us in so we can talk to Dumbledore and be out of your faces."
The two men exchanged a look before turning and and left the doorway clear. Rachel gave Caelyn a smug look and followed after them, dragging a reluctant werewolf behind her. ~*~*~*~ Alex let a slow grin form on her face when she saw her old friends following Sirius and Remus down. Lily wasn't the only one who had been convinced that Caelyn and Rachel weren't dark. Both her and her husband were also among the select few, not letting anyone else know. Her grin widened when she saw Rachel dragging Caelyn behind her.
"Would you look at who is back?" she said, rounding the table so she could stand in front of the two women.
The Veela smiled and launched herself at Alex, hugging her tightly. "Alex! It's been so long!"
Lucas greeted Caelyn after he too left the blueprint on the table, hugging her as well. The rest of the Order watched the reunion, most of them looking disbelieving.
"Now that the nauseating reunions are finished," Snape drawled. "What is your business here?"
Rachel sent a glare at him. "I think you already know, Severus. Caelyn and I would like to join your efforts to bring the Dark Lord down for good."
Everyone was silent, staring at the two in various degrees of shock. Caelyn shifted uncomfortably under their stares. She may be an attourney but it didn't mean that she liked being stared at. It made her feel like a piece of meat on display.
"Excellent," Dumbledore began, clapping his hands together. "I daresay that I am quite relieved to hear that. Take a seat, ladies, and join us." He made two chairs appear on either side of him at the head of the table.
Rachel made sure that Caelyn took her seat before taking hers, smiling at everyone's faces. Alex and Lucas took their seats also, grinning madly.
"We've been looking over old blueprints of buildings he's used before to hide," Dumbledore continued, shifting a few of them into their view.
Caelyn took one glance at them and let out a laugh. She couldn't help it. "You think he used Riddle Manor?" she asked.
"He avoided that building like it had the case of dragonpox," Rachel added, giggling. "No, he was more secretive than that. What I am surprised by is that he didn't use Grimmauld Place."
"He couldn't," Caelyn said. "Sirius had possession of it in the first place, even if he was disowned. Regulus would've gotten it if his older brother died." She shrugged at the looks everyone gave her. "What? He told me that himself."
"That's right. You were married to the little bastard weren't you?" Sirius said.
Caelyn growled low at him, her eyes flashing gold. "Don't you dare disrespect my husband. He was a good man and a loving husband and father."
But Sirius didn't answer her. He stared into her glowing eyes, challenging her. "You don't frighten me, werewolf."

Chapter Five
The kitchen went silent. While Rachel and Alex were glaring at Sirius, everyone else was dead silent. They were staring at her in shock, including Remus. He had never even thought about that it was possible Caelyn was a werewolf as well. But, staring into her now gold eyes, he found himself believing it. The only thing he couldn't figure out was that she never transformed on the full moon.
"Yeah, she's a werewolf, alright," Sirius spat. "But that's not all. She's not just a werewolf.. both her parents were. She's a born werewolf, released from the restrictions of having to transform on a full moon." He picked up a silver fork and slid it across the table so it touched her arm. Caelyn shrieked as the silver touched her and she jerked her arm away, holding the smoking flesh.
"How dare you?" she growled at him. "I trusted you! I trusted you enough to know what I was back at school and now you decide to blurt all my dirty little secrets for everyone to hear?" She turned her gaze to Rachel. "I told you! I told you, Rachel, that they wouldn't listen. Now they know everything about me, right down to my secret marriage and my child. They could accidently slip a silver knife to me or taunt me about losing one of my children, and how my husband chickened out of a mission he was trusted with."
Rachel looked down. "I didn't know anybody else knew anything. I thought..."
"Well, you thought wrong."
Dumbledore grabbed her uninjured arm, causing her to spin around. "You will not be leaving, Caelyn Andrea Gray-Black. You will in fact stay here. I will send an owl to your daughter for her to come over and stay. She will then be accepted at Hogwarts for her fifth year while the two of you help us with Voldemort."
Caelyn let out a feline-like hiss and tore her arm away from his grip. "Don't speak his name in front of me!"
"You better get used to it, love," Lucas said. "Everyone says it around here. Now, please, take a seat and I'll get some cream for your burn."
The werewolf let out a sigh and dropped down to her seat, her arm still holding her injured arm. She glared at everyone else. "This is my final warning. If anyone as much decides to try that trick again, I will leave. For good."
"Trust me, you don't want that," Rachel replied. She smirked at the Order members. "The Dark Lord trusted her more than me. She was his ultimate killing machine, as you might have guessed. You probably saw her more than you did me. I was just his bed warmer."
Remus broke the silence with a question. He was looking at Caelyn. "So, you are a born werewolf? What does that imply?"
She glanced at him, her eyes returning to their original color. "It implies that I don't have to change under the full moon but I have to do it once every two weeks or I will be forced. It means that I am only allergic to pure silver and that I was born with my wolf. The wolf and I are the same person, a perfect blend if you will. My senses are forever heightened and I am naturally strong. Anything else before we continue?" No one answered her.
"Good!" Dumbledore said, looking excited. "Now, continuing on..." ~*~*~*~ Naomi appeared with her belongings an hour later. Rachel went back to pack whatever else she could while Caelyn helped her find a room. The two then went downstairs so Naomi could meet the Order herself.
It was Snape who voiced that she looked nothing like Regulus Black. Naomi stared at her mother in confusion as the others agreed with Snape.
"I thought he was my father, Mum?" she asked. "You said that I had amber eyes because I could be a werewolf like you."
Caelyn let out a sigh and a ran a hand through her hair. She wished she didn't have to do this now. She didn't want to break her daughter's heart more than she had to. Knowing everyone else was watching her, the werewolf dropped to her chair, putting her head in her hands.
"She isn't, is she?" Remus replied quietly.
"No," she said. "I was pregnant with her and R-Riley before he and I got married. I was with him, yes, but we never had sex until they were born. Merlin, Naomi, I am so sorry for lying to you all these years."
"Is he alive? Is my father alive?" Naomi said, voicing her question.
Caelyn raised her head and met her daugther's eyes with her tearful blue-gray ones. "Yes, love. Your father is still alive. In fact," she took in a deep breath, "he is in this room."
Snape and Remus stilled, their eyes going from Caelyn to Naomi in disbelief. Alex and Lucas shared a knowing look, figuring it out right away.
"Mine," Remus said breathlessly. Everyone looked at him. He swallowed. "Naomi's mine, isn't she?" His amber eyes were locked onto his werewolf mate.
Caelyn nodded, her tears falling. "I am sorry for not saying anything, but you told me it was a mistake. You had told me, back at school, how you never loved me. I was afraid you would hate me even more if I had given birth to your children. I thought I could hide Naomi's parentage with a simple explanation but w-with..." She wiped her tears. "W-with R-Riley..." She couldn't continue as she broke down.
Rachel cleared her throat, making everyone but Caelyn turn to her. "Riley looked a great deal like Lupin. It was hard for both Regulus and Caelyn to hide that fact. Even though Regulus had the nearly same color of hair, there was no denying the truth. It was with a stroke of luck that a simple Glamour charm helped cover some of his looks."
"But Riley's dead," Alex said. She wiped her eyes. "We were told that both of your sons were dead."
"True," Rachel agreed. "Riley and Draconius are dead but that does not mean that we didn't love them all the same. There were times when I would be so jealous of Caelyn because she still had a child that was alive. I eventually got over it, though."
While Rachel was talking, Remus continued to look at Caelyn, who was hunched over and crying into her hands. He felt his heart break for making her think of Riley. Hell, even he could feel the prick of tears in his eyes. His eyes slid over to Naomi, who was staring at him with a hopeful gaze. He resigned to the fact that he would make the effort to be nice to Naomi's mother while getting to know his daughter. Besides, Remus could feel his wolf stir at the thought of his mate being back and with his cub as well. ~*~*~*~ gotta eat dinner now... I wish I could continue, though
